Summer jams

It has been an awesome summer so far in Tallinn, Estonia. I have still one more week of vacation and I've been having a blast! Went to Malta to visit my good friend David and to attend the Earth Garden reggae music festival. David took us also snorkling, where in the first time of my life I faced eye-to-eye one of my greatest fears: an octopus. Such a magnificent creature, but I am terrified by them. David did not seem to mind though as he almost was able to high-five the camouflage master, but the octopus fled back into its cave to seek shelter.

Also, we visited Spain twice. First time in Valencia, where Liisi had his animated movie "Miisufy" screening. A week later we went to Basque country and visited Bilbao BBK Live music festival, where I saw one my top favourite bands Khruangbin performing on stage real up close. I stood there 40 minutes before show to stand in the front of the stage to make sure I could see my heroes as close as possible. This is not really as crazy as it seems, though. Superfans do not mind even standing hours in lines to get the best possible spot to see their favourites perform.

I've never really visited such a huge festival before and it was crazy how many people can fit into such a small area. Downsides is that by the second day the ground was all muddy and unfortunately it was not the normal mud. It was often mud mixed with urine as people for some reason did not like visiting the toilets, which were very well maintained by the way. We also saw messages near the concert cite criticizing the festival as apparently they are driven by greed and do not pay the staff a fair salary.

Last bit of news, but definitely not the least is that I've been jamming in Tallinn with two amazing and extremely talented musicians Erik Liiv and Triin Kikkas to play some rock music and perhaps even some funk in the future. We just started our musical journey together and this has been so much fun to jam with them. When I listen to Erik's groovy drums and Triin's hauntingly beautiful voice I can't really help myself dreaming about giving a kick-ass concert with them hopefully not in a too distant future!

That's it for this time, folks! Enjoy the summer!
